DALLAS, Pa. – Immaculata University's volleyball team took its first loss of the young season Tuesday night as the Mighty Macs fell on the road to the Misericordia Cougars, 3-1. Immaculata (1-1) won the opening set, 25-19, but Misericordia (3-1) won the next three for the match, 25-15, 25-21 and 25-20.
Senior
Gabrielle Guerrera paced the team with 12 kills and four total blocks. Sophomore
Olivia Zdradzinski and senior
Arden Vizzard each amassed eight kills as Zdradzinski also added 15 assists and eight digs, while Vizzard had 13 digs. Freshman
Lex Poss also made 15 assists and eight digs.

How it Happened
· Immaculata had the early 6-1 lead in the opening set as Misercordia committed five errors that lead to IU points. The Cougars climbed back into the set cutting the Mighty Macs' lead to just one point (13-12). Still a one-point set at 14-13, Immaculata won the next four points to go ahead, 18-13, and later took a 20-14 lead. However, a five-point run by the Cougars made it 20-19 and forced the Mighty Macs to call time out. Immaculata responded with the next five points for the win.
· Immaculata got behind, 5-0, at the start of the second set, and never was able to even the margin.
· The third set was a constant swing set in the beginning as the two teams traded leads. Misericordia was ahead, 14-11, when Immaculata won five-straight points on kills from Zdradzinski,
Nicole Taylor, Vizzard, Guerrera, and
Rachael Rockefeller to make it 16-14 in favor of Immaculata. The Cougars then won five of the next six points to grab a 19-17 edge, which they never gave away.
· It was back-and-forth again at the start of the fourth set as Immaculata eventually had a 12-10 lead. But, Misericordia winning nine out of the next 10 points swung the set in favor of the Cougars. The Mighty Macs got within two points (22-20), but Misericordia won the final three points for the match.

Inside the Numbers
· Kills:
Guerrera had a team-high 12 kills. Zdradzinski and Vizzard made eight apiece, and Rockefeller had five.
· Assists:
Zdradzinski and Poss handed out 15 assists each.
· Digs: Vizzard recorded a leading 13 digs, while Zdradzinski, Poss and
Sara Desmond had eight.
· Blocks: Guerrera was the team's leader at the net with four total blocks.
Shelby Belk and Rockefeller each finished with two block assists.
· Team Stat of the Match: The Mighty Macs hit .226 during the first set that they won, and the winner of each set hit over .200.  Â
