IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata volleyball team took care of business in its Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) home opener Wednesday night as the Mighty Macs defeated the Rosemont Ravens, 3-0. Immaculata won by set scores of 25-6, 25-9 and 25-10.

The Mighty Macs improved to 3-6 overall and 1-1 in the CSAC, while Rosemont dropped to 1-10, 0-3 CSAC.

Senior
Arden Vizzard led the Mighty Macs with 14 kills, while sophomore
Olivia Zdradzinski made 25 assists. Freshman
Sara Desmond paced the defense with 10 digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Immaculata won the first six points of the match, and built a 13-2 lead. After Rosemont made it 13-3, the Mighty Macs went on a seven-point run to extend the lead to 20-3, and stayed in control the rest of the first set.
-The second set started with the Mighty Macs winning the first five points as senior
Gabrielle Guerrera had two kills, Zdradzinski made one service ace, freshman
Natalie Dependahl also had a kill, and there was one error by the Ravens. Immaculata held an 11-3 advantage when the Mighty Macs went on their long run. Immaculata won 12 consecutive points which featured five kills for the Mighty Macs and five service aces by junior
Madi Curley. Rosemont won five-straight point to avoid game-point, but Immaculata won the set on a kill by junior
Olivia Carter.
-The Ravens had an early lead in the third set (5-3), but the Mighty Macs came back with seven-straight points to gain 10-5 lead. Leading 17-10, Immaculata closed out the match with eight points.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-Kills: Vizzard led the team with 14 kills, while senior
Nicole Taylor and Zdradzinski each had seven. Guerrera finished with five.
-Hitting Percentage: The team had its highest hitting percentage (.333) of the season with 40 kills on 84 attacks and just 12 errors. Zdradzinski led the way hitting .600, and Vizzard and Taylor each were at .417.
-Assists: Zdradzinski produced a team-best 25 assists, and Vizzard handed out five.
-Service Aces: The Mighty Macs had 16 aces as a team led by five each from Curley and Guerrera.
-Digs: Desmond paced the squad with 10 digs. Zdradzinski made eight, and Vizzard had six.
