IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's volleyball team (2-4) split its matches on Saturday afternoon as the Mighty Macs hosted Penn State Harrisburg and Wilkes in a tri-match. Immaculata began the day with a 3-1 (25-23, 25-17, 23-25, 25-20) win against Penn State Harrisburg (5-3), and the hosts wrapped up the day with a 3-0 loss (26-24, 25-15, 25-16) to Wilkes (4-6).

Senior
Arden Vizzard led the Mighty Macs in kills during both matches with 17 against PSU Harrisburg and six opposite Wilkes. A total of three Mighty Macs recorded double-doubles against the Nittany Lions. Vizzard had 14 digs to go along with her 17 kills. Senior
Gabrielle Guerrera had 10 kills and 14 digs, while sophomore
Olivia Zdradzinski posted 22 assists and 14 digs.

Zdradzinski was the only Mighty Mac with a double-double against Wilkes with 13 assists and 16 digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Penn State Harrisburg
- Immaculata scored six-straight points at the start of the match, and continued to build its lead, even going ahead 23-11. However, the Nittany Lions went on a six-point run to make it 23-17. Immaculata set up set point at 24-17, but Penn State Harrisburg again went on a six-point run to close within 24-23. The Mighty Macs were able to win the first set on an attack error by the Nittany Lions, 25-23.
-Immaculata again built a big lead at the start of the second set, 10-1, and continued to expand its advantage to 14-3. After Penn State Harrisburg cut the margin to five (19-14), Immaculata strung together four-straight points and went on for the 25-17 win. Â
-The third set was back-and-forth with a string of runs by both squads. Immaculata would win five-consecutive points, and then Penn State Harrisburg would win six points in-a-row. Â The set was even at 22-22 when the Nittany Lions won two straight for set point, and after a service error made it 24-23, Penn State Harrisburg won the set on kill by the Nittany Lions.
- The final set was another close one, but the Mighty Macs gained control after the Nittany Lions won three-straight points to make it 19-18 in favor of the Macs. Immaculata won six of the next eight to put the match away.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Wilkes
- The first set was a close affair the whole way as lead team held the lead and there were 17 ties leading up to the 24-all mark. After the Mighty Macs had a kill from junior
Shelby Belk to make it 24-24, the Colonels scored the 25th point on a block and won the set with a kill.
- Wilkes started the second set out 7-1, and built its advantage to 20-11 before putting the set away for the 2-0 lead.
- The third set started out close as the Mighty Macs trailed just 12-9. However, the Colonels went on a six-point run forcing the Mighty Macs to call a timeout. Immaculata responded with the next three points, but the closest the Mighty Macs came was within five (21-16).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Kills: Vizzard had 17 kills against Penn State Harrisburg and six opposite Wilkes to lead the Mighty Macs. Guerrera made 10 against the Nittany Lions and six versus the Colonels.
- Assists: Zdradzinski paced the squad with 22 and 13 assists, respectively, in each match.
- Digs: Freshman
Sara Desmond amassed a team high in digs during both matches with 16 agaisnt Penn State Harrisburg and 20 opposite Wilkes.
- Aces: Immaculata had 13 aces against Penn State Harrisburg as freshman
Lex Poss made five aces, and Desmond added four. Â
- Blocks: Guerrera had five total blocks for the day, two against the Nittany Lions and three opposite the Colonels.
