HAVERFORD, Pa. – Immaculata University's volleyball team played the final match of its four-match road string to start the season Wednesday night suffering a 3-0 defeat at Haverford. Immaculata (1-3) fell to the host Haverford Fords (6-2), 25-11, 25-13 and 25-13.
Senior
Gabrielle Guerrera paced the team with six kills. Sophomore
Olivia Zdradzinski and freshman
Sara Desmond amassed a team-best 12 digs, while freshman
Lex Poss made five assists.

How it Happened
· Haverford held a slim 10-8 lead in the first set when the Fords scored six-straight points to open up a 16-8 advantage. After the Mighty Macs won a point on a Fords attack error, Haverford again went on a roll scoring four-consecutive points for a 20-9 edge.
· Haverford pulled out in front early in the second set (9-2) forcing Immaculata to call a time out. The Mighty Macs stayed in the set trailing by just four points, 14-10, when the Fords began to pull away for the win.
· The third set started with an 11-4 lead for Haverford. The Mighty Macs closed the gap and came within three (13-10). Haverford then rattled off five-straight points to lead the hosts to the win.
Inside the Numbers
· Kills: Guerrera had a team-high six kills.
Nicole Taylor and Zdradzinski made three apiece, and Desmond had two.
· Assists: Poss handed out five assists, while Zdradzinski had four.
· Digs: Both Desmond and Zdradzinski recorded a leading 12 digs, while
Arden Vizzard had 10. Poss added nine digs.
· Blocks: Taylor had two total blocks, one solo and one assisted.
· Service Aces: Desmond served up two aces.

Immaculata hosts a tri-match on Saturday beginning at noon for its season opener. The Mighty Macs take on Penn State Harrisburg at noon, and play Wilkes at 4 p.m.
