IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata's men's tennis team inched closer to clinching a spot in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Tournament with its 9-0 sweep of Rosemont Monday afternoon. Immaculata improved to 5-4 overall and 4-2 in the CSAC.
 
The Mighty Macs took an early lead following their three wins in doubles. Dom Ramsden and Michael Griffin III defeated James Finney and Luis Castillo, 8-5, at first singles. Stephen Smith and John Binner made quick work at second doubled with an 8-0 win against Dan Suarez and Nick Tortorella, and Luke Santoni and Ryan McDowell were 8-1 winners at third doubles against John Crozier and Emmanuel Laroque.
 
Turning attention to singles play, Smith won, 6-1, 6-2, at the top spot against Finney, and Ramsden defeated Castillo, 6-2, 6-2, at second singles. Griffin III was a 6-2, 6-0 winner at third singles against Suarez, and McDowell had a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win at fourth singles against Tortorella.
 
Binner also picked up his second win of the match with a 6-2, 6-0 win at fifth singles against Kaushik Dhanyamraji. Shane Morales played sixth singles getting a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Merhawi Tesfay.
 
Immaculata faces its final CSAC challenge of the regular season tomorrow afternoon hosting Neumann at 3:30 p.m. on senior day.
