GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa.- The Immaculata men's tennis team (2-1) has raced out to a 2-0 mark in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play as they defeated defending CSAC champion Gwynedd Mercy on Wednesday afternoon, 6-3, on the road.

The Macs won two of three doubles matches, and four of six singles matches, while their three losses came in tie breaks.

Freshman
Ryan McDowell, senior
John Binner, and senior
Luke Santoni all won both of their matches on the day.

McDowell and Binner paired to win 8-4 at second doubles, and seniors
Michael Griffin III and Santoni won 8-2 at third doubles. Senior
Stephen Smith and sophomore
Dom Ramsden dropped a tiebreaker, 7-3, after splitting the set 8-8.

In singles, Ramsden bounced back with a tough 6-4, 6-4 victory in second singles, while Santoni also gutted out a close win at sixth singles, 6-3, 6-4.

McDowell (6-1, 6-2) at the fourth spot and Binner (6-0, 6-0) at the fifth spot each had easy victories.

Smith lost in a third set tie break in the first spot, 2-6, 6-1, 3-6, and Griffin did the same at third singles, 4-6, 6-3, 5-7.

The Mighty Macs hope to make it three straight CSAC victories to start the schedule as they host Cabrini on Thursday afternoon.
