IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's men's tennis team (1-1, 1-0 CSAC) started the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) portion of its 2017 season Friday afternoon hosting Marywood (0-4, 0-1 CSAC) as the Mighty Macs picked up an 8-1 win against the Pacers.

Immaculata swept doubles play for an early 3-0 lead in the match, and then the Mighty Macs took the first five singles matches to finish to secure the win.

Stephen Smith,
Dom Ramsden,
John Binner,
Ryan McDowell and
Luke Santoni all picked up wins in both singles and doubles.

Smith paired with Ramden at the top doubles position for an 8-4 win against Steven Price and Brendan O'Rourke. IU's second doubles team of Binner and McDowell was also 8-4 winners against Bryon Scholl and John Shebby. Third doubles pair of Santoni and
Michael Griffin III won, 8-0, against Momar Fall and Ulises Munoz-Santos.

Smith defeated Price at the top singles spot, 6-0, 6-2, while Ramsden took care of Scholl, 6-4, 6-2, at second singles. McDowell was a winner at fourth singles, 6-0, 6-4, opposite Shebby, while Binner won in straight-sets, 6-0, 6-0, at the fifth spot against Fall. Santoni downed Munoz-Santos at No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-4.

It was also a clean sweep for the Mighty Macs, but O'Rourke was able to pull out 7-5, 7-5 sets against Griffin III for the Pacers one point of the match.
