Men's Tennis Takes Season Opening Loss At Alvernia, 8-1

READING, Pa.-
 The Immaculata men's tennis team got their 2017 season underway on Thursday afternoon in a non-conference match at Alvernia, and after winning one of the first three doubles, the Macs (0-1) were shut out in singles and fell, 8-1.

Freshman Ryan McDowell had a strong debut as he paired with senior John Binner in the second doubles spot to win the lone point of the day for the Macs, 8-6.

McDowell played in the fourth singles position and won the first set 6-4 before dropping the next two, 8-10, 8-10.  The Mighty Macs were swept in the other five singles matches.

The Macs will have nine days off before heading to Penn State-Brandywine for a non-conference match on Saturday, March 11th.
