ASTON, Pa. – Immaculata volleyball started Colonial States Athletic Conference play Thursday night with a 3-0 loss at Neumann. The Knights took the match from the Mighty Macs, 25-20, 25-18 and 25-21.

Immaculata (3-8, 0-1 CSAC) had two players record double-double efforts during the match.
Arden Vizzard led the team with 11 kills while adding 13 digs.
Olivia Zdradzinski finished with 24 assists and 11 digs.

Also on the attack for the Mighty Macs were
Shelby Belk and
Gabrielle Guerrera with seven kills apiece. The defense was led by
Madi Curley's 17 digs, and
Molly Truitt made 12 digs. Both Curley and Truitt had two service aces during the match.

Immaculata held a slim lead on Neumann (4-8, 1-1 CSAC)Â during the opening set as Immaculata continued to be ahead, 18-15. However, the Knights won the next eight points to take a 23-18 advantage. A kill from Vizzard and ace by Truitt made it 23-20, but Neumann closed out the set on the next two points.

A six-point run by the Knights in the second set have the hosts the 10-5 lead. Neumann later extended its margin to nine points, 19-10. However, a six-point spurt by Immaculata brought the guests within three (19-16). Guerrera had two kills and Curley had one kill and an ace during the run. Unfortunately, that was as close as the Mighty Mas were coming to get to the Knights in the set.

The two squads were neck-and-neck for almost the entire third set, even tied at 21-21. But, Neumann won the final four points to win the set and match. It was the longest string of points by either team during the entire third set.
