READING, Pa. – Immaculata's volleyball team dropped both matches at the Alvernia tri-match Saturday afternoon. The Mighty Macs began the day with a 3-0 loss to Washington College by scores 25-11, 25-11 and 25-16. Immaculata then closed out the day with a 3-1 loss (23-25, 25-12, 25-14, 25-22) to host Alvernia.

In the match against Washington,
Shelby Belk and
Olivia Zdradzinski led the team with five kills each.
Madi Curley handed out 11 assists.
Arden Vizzard took control of the back row with 18 digs.

The Shorewomen (5-1) used their strong attack to lead them to the win as they hit .296 for the match with 42 kills on 98 attacks.

Against Alvernia, Immaculata pulled out the win in the first set, 25-23. The Mighty Macs were ahead in the set, 19-8, when the Crusaders won six-straight points to make it 19-14. Immaculata eventually set up game-point at 24-20, but Alvernia came back within one at 24-23 before the Macs won the set on a Crusaders service error.

Alvernia (2-5) pulled ahead midway through the second set by winning 11 of 12 points. The Crusaders started the third set with a 10-3 lead, and the fourth set began the Mighty Macs with the 8-4 advantage. Alvernia finally tied the set at 11-11, and then took a 17-12 lead. Immaculata got within one point twice late, the last at 23-22, but the hosts won the match with two kills from the Crusaders.

Zdradzinski and Belk again were Immaculata's leaders with seven kills. Vizzard also added seven kills and
Tess Kieffer recorded six kills. Zdradzinski also made 14 assists and eight digs. Curley set up 11 of the Mighty Macs' kills.

Olivia Carter made 11 digs and had two service aces.
Molly Truitt made 19 digs, and Vizzard came up with 12 digs.Â

Immaculata falls to 1-5 this season, and will be back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 13, hosting Ursinus at 7 p.m.
