Men's Tennis Falls In Home Opener To Alvernia

IMMACULATA, Pa.- 
The Immaculata men's tennis team got their 2016 home schedule underway on Thursday afternoon and dropped a 9-0 decision to visiting Alvernia.  The Mighty Macs (0-2) will play once more this week when they travel to Lancaster Bible for non-conference action.

In doubles, the pairings were slightly different, and juniors Mark Hueber and Stephen Smith at the closest match with an 8-3 defeat in the second slot.

In singles, for the second consecutive match, Smith went to a third set tie break, but fell 10-0.  He the first set 6-2, but dropped the second set and the tiebreaker.  Freshman Dom Ramsden had a close battle in the third position with scores of 4-6, 4-6.
