BOX SCOREANNVILLE, Pa.- The Immaculata men's tennis team got their 2016 season underway on Tuesday afternoon at Lebanon Valley (2-5) and fell 9-0 to the Dutchmen.

The Macs (0-1) had a pair of close losses in doubles, both by a score of 8-6. Sophomore
Patrick Tierno and junior
Stephen Smith dropped their match in the first position, and juniors Mike Griffin III and
John Binner fell by the same count in the third spot.

In singles, Smith fell in three sets at the second position. He dropped a tight first set 7-5, but bounced back with a 6-0 victory in the second set before falling 10-5 in the third set tie break. In the fourth spot, Binner fell in the first set 6-2, but he battled back with a 6-4 win in the second set. He would also fall by the same 10-5 count in the tiebreak.

The Macs would lose the other four matches in straight sets.

Immaculata will get their home schedule started this Thursday at 3:30 p.m. when they host Alvernia. Â
