READING, Pa.- The Immaculata men's tennis team went on the road for a non-conference match at Albright (9-7) on Thursday afternoon and fell by a score of 8-1. The Mighty Macs dropped to 3-8 overall on the season.
The Macs picked up their lone point of the day in doubles from their most reliable tandem at the third doubles spot, sophomores
Stephen Smith and
Mark Hueber, who won their fifth straight and eighth in their last nine by a score of 8-4.
In singles, two players pushed their matches to third sets, but were unable to get over the top for the win. Senior
Will DeSantis played his first match of the season at the fourth spot and won the second set 6-1, after dropping the first one 6-2 before losing in the tiebreaker, 10-4. In the fifth spot, sophomore
John Binner also won the second set, 6-4, after falling in the first, but then dropped the tiebreaker, 10-6.
The Mighty Macs will wrap up their season next Tuesday with their final match at home against Arcadia at 4 p.m.
