Men's Tennis Topped By Neumann, 7-2

IMMACULATA, Pa.-
 In need of a win to bolster their playoff chances, the Immaculata men's tennis team (3-6, 2-4 CSAC) needed a victory over the defending CSAC champion Neumann Knights (7-1, 5-0 CSAC) on Saturday afternoon at the IU Tennis Courts, but Neumann dealt the Mighty Macs a 7-2 defeat.

In doubles, sophomores Mark Hueber and Stephen Smith continued their outstanding season together at the third doubles position as they moved to 5-0 in conference play with an 8-3 victory for the only IU point in doubles.

In singles play, junior Nick Coia had an impressive victory in the first singles position as he picked up a 6-1, 6-2 triumph for the other Immaculata point.  Senior Alessandro Mazzone played well in the first set in the sixth spot before falling 7-6, and he went on to drop the second set 6-0.

The Mighty Macs will wrap up CSAC play on Tuesday afternoon on Senior Day at the IU Tennis Courts at 4 p.m.
