CLARKS SUMMITT, Pa.-Â The Immaculata men's tennis team travelled to Baptist Bible on Friday afternoon looking to win their third consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match, but the Defenders (4-7, 2-3 CSAC) swept all six singles to deal the Mighty Macs (3-5, 2-3 CSAC) an 8-1 defeat in a pivotal match.
In doubles, the third tandem of sophomores
Mark Hueber and
Stephen Smith moved their CSAC record to 4-0 and 6-1 overall with an 8-4 triumph for the only IU point of the day.
Freshman
Patrick Tierno and junior
Nick Coia fell 8-3 in the first doubles position.
In singles, IU dropped all six matches in straight sets. Â Sophomore
John Binner fell in a tough first set 7-5 before dropping the second one 6-0 in the fifth position. Â Senior
Alessandro Mazzone fell in two tight sets, 6-4, 6-4 in the sixth spot.
The Mighty Macs will host Neumann tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. in a CSAC match.
