LA PLUME, Pa. - Immaculata Unviersity men's tennis swept Keystone College, 9-0 in Colonial States Athletic Conference action on Saturday. The Mighty Macs earned their first conference win (1-2) of the season and improved to 2-2 overall. The Giants fell to 0-3 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
Junior
Nick Coia earned a 6-3, 6-0 win over Michael Hull at first singles, while senior
Will DeSantis recorded a 7-5, 6-1 vicory over Brian Toda at second singles. Freshman
Patrick Tierno registered a 6-0, 6-1 win at third singles, as sophomores
Stephen Smith (6-1, 6-0) and
John Binner (6-0, 6-0) collected victories at fourth and fifth singles, respectively. Senior
Alessandro Mazzone finshed the scoring with a 6-1, 6-0 win at sixth singles.
In doubles action, the team of Coia and Tierno defeated Hull and Toda, 8-1, in first doubles, while DeSantis and Binner amassed an 8-3 win at second doubles. Sophomore
Mark Hueber, along with Smith, totaled an 8-4 victory at sixth doubles.
Immaculata returns to action on Wednesday, April 1, when they host Rosemont College. First serve is set for 4pm.
