Box Score Photo GalleryIMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata men's soccer team hosted their first Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) postseason game in six seasons on Tuesday night in the CSAC Quarterfinals against No. 6 Keystone, and the Giants (8-8-1) scored in the 50
th minute which proved to be the difference in a 1-0 defeat for the Macs.
The Mighty Macs finish the season 8-11 after tying a program-record with a 6-3 CSAC mark in the regular season.
For the game, the teams tied 11-11 in shots, but the Macs held a 7-1 advantage in corners.
Junior
Kyle Jumalon led the team with three shots and junior
Alec Schuler had two. Junior
Joe Lubonski had three saves in the cage.
The teams played very evenly in the first half, with the Macs generating good pressure from junior
Stephen Smith, freshman Mark Staudenmeyer, and Schuler, but the teams went to the locker room scoreless.
In the second half, the Giants' Kouassi Kouadio scored on a bouncing ball in the box on an assist from Ofentse Kale to put Keystone up 1-0 with 40 minutes remaining in the game.
Jumalon would have the best chance of the game off a deflected ball on a corner, but his shot went high and the Macs were unable to mount the comeback in the season-ending defeat.
