Box Score IMMACULATA, Pa.- Entering the game tied for the final Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) playoff spot with four CSAC games remaining, the Mighty Macs (3-9-2, 3-4-1 CSAC) hosted first place Gwynedd Mercy (9-3-2, 7-1 CSAC) at Draper Walsh Stadium, and the Griffins had a late second half goal that proved to be the difference in a 2-1 Mighty Mac defeat.

Morgan McDonough scored the lone goal for the Macs, who were outshot 17-12 overall, and senior goalie
Elizabeth McBride made eight saves in net.
In the first half, the Mighty Macs controlled the pace of play and possession as they held a 10-3 advantage in shots, but were unable to find the back of the net. Both junior
Carly Mirarchi and McDonough had good chances for IU, but the keeper was there each time.
The Griffins cashed in on one of their opportunities as they netted a goal in the 38
th minute by Meghan Petroski to take a 1-0 lead into the locker room at half.
In the second half, the Mighty Macs responded with a goal in the 53
rd minute to knot the score 1-1. McDonough took a centering pass from junior
Elizabeth Dudas and made a move around the defender before putting a shot into the lower left corner for her third of the season.
The Griffins countered moments later, but McBride made a full diving save to keep the score tied at 1-1.
Gwynedd Mercy started to take control of the game and would net the game-winner in the 72
nd minute on a goal from Jessica Fath on a shot that hit just inside the far post and into the cage.
The Mighty Macs will stay home on Tuesday as they look to put themselves back into the playoff picture on Tuesday against Summit at 4 p.m.
