Box Score 2 READING, Pa. – Immaculata University volleyball dropped both matches at the Alvernia tri-match Saturday afternoon. The Mighty Macs lost a 3-1 match to Penn State Berks in the opener and followed with a 3-0 loss to Alvernia.

The Nittany Lions (7-5) took the match 25-19, 25-10, 22-25 and 25-14. The Crusaders (5-6) defeated the Mighty Macs (10-4) 25-20, 25-15 and 25-20.

In the first match of the day, Immaculata fell behind 2-0 to Penn State Berks before winning the third set (25-22). The Nittany Lions then came back and closed out the match in the fourth set.

Jamie Rombach had a team-high 15 kills and added 10 digs for the double-double.
Stephanie Johler,
Gabrielle Guerrera,
Tess Kieffer and
Rachael Rockefeller all added five kills. Johler and Kieffer both recorded four blocks.

Maranda Jones registered a team-best 19 assists, and
Brittany Thompson recorded 16 assists and seven digs.
Molly Truitt led the back row with 16 digs, while
Emily Swank had 11 digs.

Rombach again paced the Mighty Macs in the second match with nine kills and added nine digs. Johler was second on the squad with seven kills and two blocks.

Jones made 12 assists and eight digs. Truitt had a team-high 16 digs.

Immaculata opens Colonial States Athletic Conference action on Wednesday, Oct. 1, hosting Cabrini at 7 p.m.
