BOX SCORERADNOR, Pa.- The Immaculata men's tennis team looked for their second straight CSAC victory after topping Rosemont yesterday, but the Mighty Macs (1-6, 2-3 CSAC) fell 8-1 on the road at Cabrini (1-10, 1-4 CSAC).
Freshman
Stephen Smith picked up the lone win of the day in a three-set marathon as he took the tiebreaker 13-11 to get the Mighty Macs a point.
Several other matches came down to the wire, but the Cavaliers were able to come up with the point.
In the second doubles spot, junior
Alessandro Mazzone and freshman
Stephen Smith went to a tie breaker tied 8-8, but came up just short in an 8-6 decision.
Sophomore
Nick Coia pushed his match in the first singles position to the third set, but eventually fell 6-4 after splitting each of the first two sets 6-1.
Mazzone played two close sets in the fourth spot, but dropped both 7-5 and 6-4.
Immaculata will continue play on Monday at Marywood.
