Men's Soccer Picks Up 1-0 Win Over Cairn

LANGHORNE, Pa. – Immaculata University's men's soccer team picked up its first win in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action Tuesday afternoon defeating Cairn University, 1-0.
 
The Mighty Macs now stand at 3-11-1 overall and 1-6 in conference play, and the Highlanders drop to 2-11-1, 1-6 CSAC.
 
Immaculata's Stephen Smith broke a scoreless game in the 60th minute with his unassisted goal, and the Mighty Macs made the one goal stand up.
 
Michael Thompson recorded a five-save shutout in goal for the Mighty Macs. Cairn's Caleb Pancoast made six saves in the effort for the Highlanders.
 
Shots were even at eight apiece during the first half, but Cairn ended the match edging Immaculata, 15-11, in shots.
 
Immaculata travels to Washington College on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 23, for a 4 p.m. non-conference finale.
