Box Score IMMACULATA, Pa. – Following a battle in the opening set, Immaculata University gained control in the second and third to sweep Gwynedd Mercy University, 3-0, in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) volleyball action. The Mighty Macs won the match following set scores of 27-25, 25-14 and 25-14.

Immaculata improved to 14-6 overall and 4-2 in the CSAC. Gwynedd Mercy dropped to 6-21, 1-7.

Jamie Rombach had a team-high 10 kills and made six digs.
Tess Kieffer had eight kills and three blocks.
Emily Swank recorded five kills and 12 digs.
Gabrielle Guerrera registered four kills and four total blocks.
Maranda Jones recorded a double-double with 19 assists and 13 digs.
Brittany Thompson had 11 assists and seven digs.

Molly Truitt paced the Mighty Macs with 18 digs, and
Allie Leonard rounded out four Immaculata players to reach double figures in digs with 10.

 Immaculata was able to avoid two Gwynedd Mercy set points in the opener, and the Mighty Macs closed out the opening set winning the final three points.

The Mighty Macs got behind 5-1 to the Griffins to start the second set, and eventually went ahead 10-7. Immaculata never gave the lead back the rest of the set.

The score was tied at 3-all in the third when Immaculata rattled off seven consecutive points to go up 10-3. Gwynedd Mercy got within three, but the Mighty Macs pulled away.

Immaculata hosts Cairn in CSAC action on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m.
