Two Late Marywood Goals Downs Field Hockey, 2-1

Box Score

IMMACULATA, Pa.- In a crucial Colonial States Athletic Conference field hockey game (CSAC) at Draper Walsh Stadium on Saturday afternoon, the Mighty Macs (6-10, 2-2 CSAC) lost a one-goal lead late and fell to the visiting Marywood University Pacers, 2-1.  The Pacers (7-7, 2-3 CSAC) scored twice in the game's final 15 minutes to erase the IU advantage.

Immaculata dominated much of the game with a 31-11 shots advantage, but they were only able to break through once in the 14th minute.

Senior Lindsay Cras took a pass from freshman Hannah Stambaugh just right of the cage and scored her second goal in three games to give IU the 1-0 lead.  The Mighty Macs would sustain the pressure for much of the first half, but Marywood goalie Kayle Huey stood strong in net.

In the second half, Marywood began clawing their way back into the game and would have an 8-2 advantage in corners by the end of the 35-minute period.

The Pacers beat sophomore goalie Sarah Pasternak (three saves) in the 56th minute off a corner, and they would do it again off a corner in the 66th minute to put them up 2-1.

The Mighty Macs will look to rebound on Tuesday with a road trip to Gwynedd Mercy for a 7 p.m. start.
