Tyler Budgick and
T.J. Jappah, the Immaculata University men's soccer team picked up its first win of the season against Penn State Berks, 2-1, in its final non-conference contest of the season.

Budgick wasted no time putting the Mighty Macs (1-7) on the scoreboard as he tallied his first goal this season on a feed from
Patrick Friend in the second minute of the game.

The Nittany Lions (0-7) evened the match at 1-1 in the 13th minute as Connor Mastricola scored for Penn State Berks.

Immaculata grabbed the lead back in the 19th minute when Jappah scored on
Stephen Smith's shot which deflected off the post to make it 2-1 in favor of the Mighty Macs. After 70 minutes of scoreless soccer, Jappah's tally proved to be the difference in lifting Immaculata to the win.

William Hegarty made his first start in goal for Immaculata and earned the win by making four saves. Penn State Berks goalkeeper, Darrel Geisinger, stopped eight Immaculata shots in the loss.

Immaculata held a 19-10 advantage in shots and edged Penn State Berks 6-5 in corner kicks.

Immaculata opens the Colonial States Athletic Conference schedule on Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Draper Walsh Stadium hosting Baptist Bible College.Â
