IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata men's tennis team (10-2, 6-0 CSAC) won its sixth consecutive CSAC match with a 5-3 triumph over Neumann (6-8, 3-3 CSAC) on Friday afternoon. The Mighty Macs clinched one of the top two seeds in the CSAC postseason tournament and will play for the top seed tomorrow afternoon when they host fellow undefeated team, Marywood at 1 p.m.
The Mighty Macs fell behind early after losing two of the first three doubles, but they then took four of the first five singles matches to claim a team victory before senior
Eric Schmidt was unable to finish his match in the third singles position due to a slippery court.
Sophomore
Troy Donato and freshman Nicholas Coia were victorious in the first doubles position after winning a tie break by a count of 7-3.
Donato then cruised to a singles win in the first position with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph. Senior
Todd Stokley followed that up with a 6-1, 6-2 victory as well in the sixth position for the second singles win for Immaculata on the day.
Coia won 6-4, 6-0 in the fourth position before senior
T.J. Klinger sealed the Immaculata win with a 6-4, 6-3 win in the fifth position to preserve the Mighty Macs' perfect record in conference play.
