Men's Soccer Falls Short Against Centenary, 1-0

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Despite a strong performance by Immaculata University on Wednesday night, Centenary College was able to defeat the host Mighty Macs, 1-0, in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) men's soccer contest.
 
The Cyclones and Mighty Macs played a scoreless first half in which both squads has several scoring opportunities spoiled by the other's goalkeeper.
 
Centenary (5-5-2, 2-1 CSAC) finally broke through in the 72nd minute as Luis Marin tallied his third goal of the season.
 
Immaculata had some key opportunities to net the equalizer during the final 18 minutes, but were unable to come up with the goal.
 
Mighty Macs goalkeeper Joseph Lubonski made eight saves, while Jesse Goleman had five stops for Centenary.
 
Centenary held a 17-13 advantage in shots. Immaculata's offensive threat was led by four shots each by T.J. Jappah and Luke Santoni.
 
Immaculata (1-11, 0-4 CSAC) plays its final home contest of the 2013 season on Saturday at 1 p.m. hosting Keystone at Draper Walsh Stadium. It was be Senior Day for the Mighty Macs.
