Volleyball Downed 3-2 By Marywood

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's volleyball team dropped its third consecutive five-set match on Wednesday night as visiting Marywood University was able to upend the Mighty Macs, 3-2, in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match.  
 
Immaculata started the match strong claiming the first two sets, 25-21 and 25-18. However, Marywood came fighting back with a 25-17 win in the third and 25-21 victory in the fourth set to tie the match at 2-2. The Pacers set the early tempo in the fifth set getting ahead 10-3, and the visitors went on to win the deciding set, 15-10.
 
Immaculata was paced by 12 kills from Alexandra Okoro. Jamie Rombach reach double digits in both kills (11) and digs (18) for her third-straight double-double performance. Andrea Okoro also added nine kills and two blocks for the Mighty Macs. Brittany Thompson registered 22 assists while Maranda Jones recorded 20 helpers. Allison Lang led the team on the block with one solo and three block assists.
 
Molly Truitt led a trio of Mighty Macs in double figures in digs with 22. Joining Rombach in the trio was Rebecca McDonald who recorded 16 digs.
 
With the loss, Immaculata is now 6-14 overall and 2-6 in the CSAC. Marywood improved its mark to 13-8, 4-2 CSAC.
 
Immaculata travels to Keystone on Friday at 5 p.m. in another league match.
