Women's Volleyball Splits Tri-Match; Earns Win Over Ursinus

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's women's volleyball team split its two matches at the Immaculata Tri-Match on Saturday afternoon. The Mighty Macs went the distance in a 3-2 (12-25, 25-17, 21-25, 26-24, 15-7) loss to Alvernia University and a 3-2 (25-19, 25-21, 11-25, 13-25, 15-10) victory over Ursinus College.

In the first match against the Crusaders (6-6), junior Allison Lang paced Immaculata with 11 kills and 20 digs, while freshman Jamie Rombach set 28 assists and collected 17 digs. Junior Brooke Schreffler recorded 21 digs, while sophmore Alexandra Okoro registered 10 kills. Freshman Stephanie Johler added nine kills, nine digs and two service aces for the Mighty Macs. Liz Neman led Alvernia with 18 kills, while Brittany Lantz posted 12. Toni Maurer picked up 26 digs, while Tori Beck had 36 assists to lead the Crusaders.

In the second match, Alexandra Okoro led Immaculata with eight kills and 13 digs, while Rombach added 20 assists and seven kills. Brittany Thompson posted 12 digs, as Johler and sophomore Andrea Okoro collected six kills each.  Kristin Hanratty paced the Bears (4-9) with 14 kills and five service aces. Gina Powers set 27 assists, while Leah Masiello amassed 23 digs and six services aces.

The Mighty Macs (2-10) return to action on Tuesday, September 25, when they host Cabrini College in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.  First serve is set for 7 p.m.
