Men's Soccer Comeback Falls Short

IMMACULATA, Pa.
– Immaculata University's men's soccer team scored back-to-back goals less than one minute apart during the final five minutes of the game, but its comeback effort fell short against Arcadia on Wednesday afternoon, 3-2.
 
Trailing 3-0 to Arcadia late in the contest, T.J. Jappah took a pass from Will Carr in the front of the box and buried the ball in the net in the 87th minute. Less than one minute later, Jappah was taken down in the box and the Mighty Macs were awarded a penalty kick. Kyle Craig took the PK and pushed it opposite the Knights' diving goalkeeper.
 
Immaculata tried to net the equalizer but ran out of time during the final minutes.
 
Arcadia (2-1-2) built its lead scoring in the 18th minute to lead 1-0 at halftime.The Knights scored again in the 48th and 68th minutes to extend their lead to 3-0.
 
Immaculata goalkeeper Chris Raudabaugh took the loss making four saves. Arcadia starting goalkeeper Ryan Lantzy played the first 81 minutes not allowing a goal and was not forced to make a save. Seth Shoap played the final nine minutes with two stops.
 
Immaculata (0-3) hosts DeSales on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
