Volleyball Comes Up Short In Tri-Match

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Immaculata University's volleyball team dropped both matches during the season-opening tri-match at Delaware Valley College. The Mighty Macs began the day with a 3-1 loss to Bryn Mawr and followed with a 3-0 defeat to the host Aggies.
 
Immaculata fell in its match to Bryn Mawr by scores 23-25, 25-23, 25-22 and 25-14. Delaware Valley swept the second match by scores of 25-16, 25-16 and 25-19.
 
Opposite the Owls, Andrea Okoro led the Mighty Macs with eight kills while Jamie Rombach finished with seven kills and two blocks to go along with her double-double performance with 16 assists and 15 digs. Stephanie Johler tallied six kills and 17 digs. Brooke Schreffler led the squad with 22 digs.
 
In the next match against Delaware Valley, Allison Lang was Immaculata's leader in kills with five and added three blocks. Okoro had four kills and two blocks opposite the Aggies. Rombach recorded her second double performance of the day with 14 assists and 12 digs. Schreffler again paced the defense with 16 digs.
 
Immaculata hosts Misericordia on Wednesday evening, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. inside Alumnae Hall.
