IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's men's tennis team won its final match of the 2012 campaign on Thursday afternoon convincingly opposite Gwynedd-Mercy, 7-2.
Immaculata (4-11, 3-4 CSAC) started the match taking two of the three doubles. The Mighty Macs claimed the top position 8-2 as
Demetrios Vlahos and
T.J. Klinger defeated Armando Fraile and Harry Guenst.
Todd Stokley and William DeSantis downed Mark Brown and Craig Gonzaga, 8-3, at third doubles for Immaculata's other doubles point.
Stokley and DeSantis were also the first to claim their singles matches. Stokley was a 6-1, 6-3 winner against Brown at No. 5 while DeSantis cruised 6-0, 6-1 against Gonzaga at No. 6.
Klinger and
Joe Walker were the next two Immaculata players to pick up points. Klinger won his match at third singles against Guenst, 6-2, 7-5. Walker defeated Kris Potemski, 6-0, 6-3, at No. 4 singles.
Vlahos finished his Immaculata career as a double winner this afternoon. After falling behind to Jared Morgan at No. 1 singles, Vlahos rallied to claim the second set in a tiebreaker and held on for the three-set win, 2-6, 7-6 (7-5), 10-8.
