IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's men's tennis squad had its winning streak snapped on Wednesday afternoon by Arcadia University, 5-3, in a non-conference match.
The Mighty Macs (3-9) took two of the three doubles matches as their No. 1 and No. 3 pairs each won. The top team of
Demetrios Vlahos and
T.J. Klinger defeated Chris Finney and Jeremy Garcia, 8-6, while the third-doubles tandem of
Todd Stokley and William DeSantis downed Herminio Quinones and Nathan Owhonda, 8-5.
Immaculata picked up its third point as Vlahos again topped Finney, this time at No. 1 singles, 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-1).
Klinger and
Joe Walker took their singles matches at No. 3 and 4, respectively, to third-set tie-breakers before being defeated by their Arcadia counterparts.
Eric Schmidt, playing second singles for the Mighty Macs, was in a third-set before having his match suspended.
Immaculata returns to league play on Saturday heading to Neumann University.
