Men's Tennis Falls In Opener To Albright, 7-2

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's men's tennis team dropped its season-opening match to Albright, 7-2, on Thursday afternoon.
 
Immaculata's third doubles team of Todd Stokley and William DeSantis began the afternoon with an 8-4 win against Albright's Adam Stamm and Brandon Wiegand.
 
The Mighty Macs also picked up a point at second singles as Eric Schmidt won his match against the Lions' Ian Moore in a tie-breaker, 5-7, 6-4, 10-3.
 
Three of Immaculata's other singles matches were forced to a tie-breaker. Top singles' player Demetrios Vlahos fell to Lui Ruicong, 2-6, 6-4, 10-7. T.J. Klinger dropped his match at third singles, 6-4, 6-7 (9-11), 10-6, to Cain Walter, and Stokley came away on the opposite end of a 4-6, 7-5, 10-7 decision at fifth singles to Joe Monzo.
 
Immaculata is back in action on March 13 traveling to Alvernia at 3 p.m.
