IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University won four singles matches but it was not enough to overcome Baptist Bible, 5-4, in the Mighty Macs' Colonial States Athletic Conference men's tennis opener on Wednesday afternoon.
The Mighty Macs' won the second thru fifth singles positions.
Eric Schmidt defeated Connor Ellswoth, 6-2, 6-4, at second singles for the Mighty Macs' first point of the afternoon.
Joe Walker, playing fourth singles, won the next Immaculata point as he defeated Conner Landry, 7-5, 6-2.
After dropping the first set,
T.J. Klinger came back to win at No. 3 singles against Matt Benjamin, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4.
Todd Stokley recorded Immaculata's fourth point with his victory at No. 5 singles, 6-2, 7-5, opposite Ryan Miller.
The Defenders began the match by winning all three doubles points, and picking up first and sixth singles.
Immaculata travels to Marywood on Friday for a 3 p.m. match with the Pacers.
