Men's Basketball Tops Marywood, 71-63

, Pa.Rob Siter led five Immaculata players in double figures with 17 points as the visiting Mighty Macs downed host Marywood University, 71-63, to keep their Colonial States Athletic Conference postseason tournament hopes alive Monday evening.
 
Immaculata (9-15, 7-10 CSAC) went 8-for-12 from 3-point range and shot 44.4 percent (20 of 45) from the field to keep Marywood (8-16, 7-10) at bay.
 
Todd Stokley scored 14 points on 4 of 5 shooting from beyond the 3-point arc in support of Siter's team-best 17 points. Kendall Peters notched 12 points off the bench while Nelson Torres added 11 and T.J. Klinger 10.
 
Immaculata made 9 of 10 free throws in the final minute of the contest to hold off a determined Marywood squad. Siter was 5-for-6 during that stretch.
 
Nelson Torres hit a jumper with 3:24 left in the game to put the Mighty Macs on top for good, 56-55. That bucket sparked an 8-0 run by the visitors that pushed Immaculata's lead to seven (62-55) with 1:16 remaining, forcing the Pacers to have to foul.
 
Immaculata trailed for only 59 seconds of the contest, though the Mighty Macs' largest lead of the game was the eight-point final margin.
 
Marywood was led by Evan Biegley's 17 points, and Matt Lepri finished with 14 points and six rebounds.
 
Immaculata travels to Centenary Wednesday for a 7 p.m. showdown with the Cyclones in a must-win situation. The Mighty Macs need to defeat Centenary in the regular-season finale for a shot at the playoffs. A loss to the Cyclones would eliminate the Mighty Macs from the postseason picture.
