Men's Soccer Pulls Out Double-Overtime Win, 2-1

IMMACULATA, Pa.
– Immaculata University's men's soccer team defeated Rosemont College, 2-1, in double overtime Wednesday night at Draper Walsh Stadium in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
 
The Mighty Macs scored the winning goal just 17 seconds into the second overtime frame. Joe Weir sent a cross into the box that was blocked by a Ravens defender, who sent the ball back to the goalkeeper. However, the goalkeeper had come out on the initial play, and the ball rolled into the back of the net.
 
Immaculata improved its record to 2-7 overall and 2-1 in the CSAC. Rosemont slips to 4-5-1, 2-1 CSAC.
 
Kyle Craig put the Mighty Macs on top in the 21st minute as he buried a penalty kick into the bottom right pocket. Immaculata still held its 1-0 lead at halftime.
 
Rosemont knotted the score at 1-1 in the 56th minute as Ryan Brazuk hit the underside of the crossbar and into the net off Sergio Martinez' corner kick.
 
The two teams played just under 45 minutes of scoreless soccer before Immaculata's tally was scored in the 101st minute.
 
Immaculata goalkeeper Chris Raudabaugh made four saves to earn the win. Rosemont goalkeeper Nick Hulayew recorded just one stop.
 
Rosemont edged Immaculata in both shots (13-6) and corner kicks (13-2).
 
Immaculata travels to Cairn on Saturday afternoon a 1 p.m. looking to make it three straight wins.
