Baptist Bible Tops Mighty Macs in CSAC Play

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa.-
Immaculata women's soccer applied consistent offensive pressure on the Baptist Bible cage in today's CSAC match, but the Defenders scored a goal in each half to take the contest 2-0.  The loss drops Immaculata to 2-5-2 in the conference and 2-11-2 overall.  The Defenders improved to 4-5-1 in the conference.

Baptist Bible got an own goal in the first half to take the early lead, despite six first half corners by the Mighty Macs.  In the second half, Immaculata fired 9 shots with five on the cage, but the Defender goalies were there with the stops every time.

The Defenders' Karin Mowry then extended the Baptist advantage to 2-0 in the 55th minute on an unassisted goal.

The Mighty Macs were unable to breakthrough to dig into the Baptist lead as the Defenders closed out the 2-0 game.

Robin Valerio led the team with 4 shots and Rachel Gannon was second with 3 of their own.

Meghan McCurnin had five saves in the defeat.

The Mighty Macs will host Cairn in their next game at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday night.
