IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University swept Gwynedd-Mercy College in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) volleyball action Wednesday night. The Mighty Macs closed out the home portion of the schedule with the 3-0 win opposite the Griffins after sets of 25-17, 25-14 and 25-17.
Wednesday night also marked senior day at Immaculata as
Brooke Schreffler played her final home match.
Alexandra Okoro had a team-leading seven kills, while a trio of Mighty Macs all posted five kills.
Stephanie Johler had five kills and four service aces, while
Jamie Rombach posted five kills and three aces.
Andrea Okoro made five kills and had two solo blocks.
Brittany Thompson recorded 15 assists, eight digs and four service aces. Schreffler registered nine digs.
As a team, Immaculata (7-18, 3-6 CSAC) served up 14 aces against the Griffins, which was one ace off the season high.
Lauren Tressel and Michelle Carrieri had five kills apiece to lead the Griffins (3-20, 2-6).
Immaculata will play a tri-match on Saturday, October 20, in Allentown, Pa. The Mighty Macs will first play a CSAC match against Cedar Crest at 11 a.m. followed by a non-conference match with King's.
