IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University came up short in its men's tennis Colonial States Athletic Conference match against Neumann University on Saturday afternoon falling 6-3.
The middle part of the Mighty Macs' singles lineup came on strong as Immaculata won points at the two thru four singles positions.
Eric Schmidt was the first of the trio of winners to come off the court. Schmidt, playing at No. 3, was down in his first set to Zane Buckley, 4-1, and came back to win five straight games and take the opening set, 6-4. Schmidt finished Buckley off 6-2 in the second for the win.
Demetrios Vlahos was next to finish as he defeated Bryan Bodine at No. 2, 6-3, 6-2.
Chris Conlan, playing the fourth position for the Mighty Macs, had to earn his win in the first set in a tie-breaker, 8-7 (7-1), and won the second, 6-3, opposite Andrew Raimundo.

T.J. Klinger left everything on the court as he tried to win his match at No. 5 against Joshua McMillion, but McMillion got the better of him, 7-5, 7-5.
The Mighty Macs fought for the third doubles point as Klinger and
Chad Mascitelli went into a tie-breaker with Raimundo and Buckley, but were on the short end 9-8 (7-2).
Immaculata slips to 1-7 overall and 1-2 in the CSAC. Neumann is now 1-4, 1-2 CSAC.
Immaculata travels to Gwynedd-Mercy on Tuesday afternoon for a league contest against the Griffins beginning at 4 p.m.
