LA PLUME, Pa. – Immaculata University's men's tennis team dropped a Colonial States Athletic Conference match to Keystone College, 8-1, on Tuesday afternoon.
T.J. Klinger pulled out his match at fourth singles against Abraham Shagoury, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) for the Mighty Macs' point of the match.
Immaculata (2-10, 2-4 CSAC) had several close singles matches during the afternoon, including two players forcing a third-set tie-breaker.
Nick Tarlecki, playing No. 1 singles, won his opening set against Chris Conte, 7-6 (7-4), but Conte came back to capture the second set, 6-2, and won in the third, 11-9.
Eric Schmidt also took his match at No. 3 singles to a tie-breaker. Keystone's (4-6, 4-2 CSAC) Sean Hanahue won the opening set 6-2, but Schmidt got the better of Hanahue in the second (6-2). However, it was Hanahue who came out on top in the tie-breaker, 10-7.
Todd Stokley also put up a valiant effort for the Mighty Macs in his match at sixth singles against Matt Gentile, but Gentile held on for the 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) victory.
Immaculata concludes the season at home on Saturday afternoon hosting Marywood at 12 p.m.
