Volleyball Slips 3-1 To Centenary

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's volleyball squad dropped a 3-1 Colonial States Athletic Conference match to visiting Centenary on Thursday evening at Alumnae Hall. The Cyclones took the match by winning the final three sets, 19-25, 25-6, 25-13 and 25-12.
 
Immaculata slips to 11-10 overall and 5-5 in the CSAC. Centenary improves to 13-19, 7-4 in league play, and the Cyclones secured the final spot in the CSAC Tournament by virtue of their win tonight.
 
Immaculata was led by Lindsey Silvestro's eight kills and three blocks. Andrea Okoro and Tamara Dabady both recorded four kills each. Kathleen Haefner registered 17 assists during the match to eclipse the 2,000-assist mark for her career with 2,016. Brooke Schreffler led the team was 11 digs.
 
Centenary was led by a triple-double from Jelena Markovic with 16 assists, 14 digs and 10 service aces. Markovic also added eight kills. Devon Paffendorf accounted for a Cyclone's high 17 kills while Kelsey Walter made 17 digs.
 
Immaculata concludes the 2011 season on Saturday morning hosting Marywood at 11 a.m. The Mighty Macs will honor their three seniors, Kathleen Haefner, Courtney Sahm and Lindsey Silvestro, prior to the match.
