Men's Basketball Drops Double Overtime Game To Baptist Bible

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – Robert Siter set a single-game school record with 35 points, but it was not enough to overcome Baptist Bible in double overtime in a CSAC men's basketball contest Monday evening, 93-90.

Immaculata slips to 3-8 overall and 1-3 in the CSAC. Baptist Bible improved to 5-6 overall and 3-1 in league play. The game marked the first time that Immaculata's men's program played a double overtime contest in its six years.

Siter's 35 points came on 12 of 17 shooting from the field and an 11-for-14 effort from the free throw line. Siter also tied his own single-game record for steals with seven.

Nelson Torres and Brandon Smith each scored 18 points for the Mighty Macs. Torres scored eight points from the charity stripe and grabbed five rebounds. Smith finished 8 of 11 from the field and had a team-high eight rebounds.

Torres forced the game into overtime after making the first of two free throws with 15.5 seconds remaining in regulation to tie things up at 69-69.

Eric Barefield forced the contest into the second overtime when he knocked down a free throw with 23 seconds left to even the score at 80-all.

Immaculata will be back in action on Monday, January 17, when it travels to Marywood at 7 p.m.
