IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata University volleyball squad lost its non-conference match to Penn State Berks, 3-0, on Wednesday evening. The visiting Nittany Lions captured the match by scores of 25-17, 25-22 and 25-21.
Immaculata now sits at 2-7 overall while Penn State Berks improved to 8-2.
Immaculata's
Lindsey Silvestro tied for match-high honors with 10 kills and added three total blocks.
Allison Lang had eight kills and
Nicole Preziuso finished with five kills and seven digs.
Kathleen Haefner set up 27 of the Mighty Macs' kills, and she made a team-high nine digs.
Brooke Schreffler and
Courtney Sahm each tied haefner's mark with nine digs apiece.
Penn State Berks was paced by Jerica Detsch's 10 kills, while Amy Shelton finished with nine and Suzi Shelton had eight. Glenda Ngo recorded 24 assists and led the team with nine digs. A. Shelton amassed a match-high five service aces.
Immaculata travels to the Blue Jay Classic this weekend hosted by Elizabethtown. The Mighty Macs begin the tournament on Friday, Sept. 24 against Mary Washington at 5:30 p.m. followed by a match at 7:30 p.m. opposite Gettysburg.
