GLASSBORO, N.J. - The Immaculata University volleyball team rallied in the fourth set to tie the match against Rowan University at 2-2, but the Profs will able to hold on in the deciding fith set (15-12) to claim the season-opening win against the Mighty Macs, 3-2. The set scores were 25-19, 20-25, 25-13, 29-31 and 15-12.
Mighty Macs (0-1) setter
Kathleen Haefner recorded a double-double with 26 assists and 22 digs while adding six kills.
Lindsey Silvestro led the Immaculata attack with 10 kills, totaled four blocks (2 solo, 2 assisted) and had a team-leading four service aces.
Jessica Egan, making her collegiate debut, registered eight kills, 12 digs and three blocks.
Nicole Preziuso added seven kills and 17 digs. Another Mighty Mac making her rookie debut was
Brooke Schreffler, who led the defense with 33 digs.
Rowan (1-0) was led by Krissy Collins with 11 kills and four blocks, and Megan Mondelli totaled eight kills and 21 digs. Kelsey Donovan dished out 32 assists and made 16 digs. Lauren Ruffalo registered a team-high 27 digs.
Immaculata plays at Albright College on Saturday, September 4 at 11 a.m.
