IMMACULATA, Pa. - Immaculata University's volleyball team lost its match against Bryn Mawr College, 3-0, Thursday night at Alumnae Hall. The visiting Owls won the match by scores of 25-21, 25-17 and 25-16.
Immaculata's record drops to 2-6 with the defeat while the Owls improve their season mark to 2-4 with the victory.
Lindsey Silvestro and Allison Lang registered seven kills apiece to lead the Mighty Macs. Brooke Schreffler led Immaculata'S defense with 17 digs. Courtney Sahm and Lang were the other two Mighty Macs in double figures in the digs column with 13 and 11, respectively.
Kathleen Haefner led the team with 22 assists and had the only ace serve on the evening for Immaculata.
Bryn Mawr had two players with double-doubles. Mikecia Witherspoon produced a match-high 13 kills and made 14 digs, while Emily Takeuchi-Miller recorded 10 assists and 11 digs. Katie Merrill led the Owls with 15 digs and five blocks.
Immaculata finishes up its three-game homestand on Wednesday, Sept. 22, with a matchup against Penn State Berks at 7 p.m. in a non-conference matchup.
