Volleyball Splits Tri-Match, Takes Win Against Hood

MIDDLETOWN, Pa.
- The Immaculata University volleyball team split its tri-match on Saturday at Penn State Harrisburg. The Mighty Macs began the day winning a five-set match against Hood by scores of 19-25, 25-19, 25-14, 22-25 and 15-10. In the final match of the afternoon, Immaculata lost to Penn State Harrisburg in another five-set match. The host Nittany Lions won with set scores 25-20, 14-25, 13-25, 25-15 and 15-13.

Jessica Egan and Tamara Dabady paced the Mighty Macs against Hood with 11 kills apiece. Egan finished with a double-double after adding 13 kills, and Dabady added four blocks. Kathleen Haefner also recorded a double-double with 33 assists and 22 digs.

Lindsey Silvestro had 10 kills and five blocks opposite Hood. Brooke Schreffler held team-high honors with 24 digs and Courtney Sahm finished with 23 digs.

In the second contest against Penn State Harrisburg, Allison Lang and Silvestro each had nine kills and Silvestro tallied three blocks. Haefner set up 33 of the Mighty Macs' kills and added three service aces and 17 digs.

Schreffler amassed 31 digs and Nicole Preziuso made 22 digs.

Immaculata opens the Colonial States Athletic Conference schedule on Tuesday night at home against Gwynedd-Mercy at 7 p.m.
