DALLAS, Pa. - Immaculata University fell to Misericordia University, 5-0, on Saturday afternoon in a men's soccer non-conference match.
Immaculata (0-5) kept Misericordia (2-2) off the scoreboard until the 19:03 mark of the first half as Andy Bush scored the first of his pair of tallies. The Cougars had a chance to put one on the home side of the scoreboard in the ninth minute as Joey Scanlon took a penalty kick, but Immaculata goalkeeper
Chris Raudabaugh anticipated correctly and made the save.
The Mighty Macs trailed just 1-0 at halftime.
Bush tallied his second goal just four minutes into the second half, and Scanlon netted a goal less than a minute later to quickly extend Misericordia's lead to 3-0 in the 50th minute.
The Cougars added two more goals in the 56th and 83rd minutes for the 5-0 final.
The Cougars outshot the Mighty Macs, 30-5, and had 11 corner kicks compared to zero by Immaculata.
Raudabaugh started and played the first half, making seven saves and allowing just the one goal. Joshua Garcia began the second half in the net and played 32 minutes, making six saves while allowing three tallies, and
Chad Mascitelli came on for the final 13 minutes, allowing one goal.
Misericordia starting keeper Mason Astaneh played 75 minutes and recorded one stop before Billy Sopko came on and finished the match.
Immaculata will be in action at Draper Walsh Stadium for the first time in 2010 on Wednesday night evening, Sept. 15, hosting Penn State Harrisburg at 6:30 p.m.
