READING, Pa. - Immaculata University's men's tennis team was downed by Penn State Berks, 9-0, in a non-league match on Saturday afternoon.
Immaculata's (0-3) top two doubles teams both fell by scores of 8-3 to the Nittany Lions' duos.
Nick Tarlecki and
Dave Harlan paired together at the top doubles, while
Demetrios Vlahos and
Eric Schmidt teamed together at the second spot. The Mighty Macs' other tandem of Mike Pancoast and
Mike Tyrell fell in the third position, 8-1.
Tarlecki dropped the No. 1 singles match to Andrei Bacalu, 6-1, 6-2. Harlan, playing second singles, and Schmidt, in the fourth position, both fell in their matches by identical scores of 6-0, 6-1 to Brendan Penn and Andrew Miller, respectively. Vlahos battled Tim Zaborowski at third singles before ultimately falling, 6-2, 7-6. Pancaost lost his match at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0, against Dan Kuzo, and Tyrell went down 6-1, 6-1 to Kanya Iquchi in the sixth spot.
Immaculata returns to the court on Monday against Penn State Abington at 3:30 p.m.
