Men's Tennis Falls To PSU Harrisburg

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - The Immaculata University men's tennis team fell in a non-league match to Penn State Harrisburg on Thursday afternoon, 9-0.

Demetrios Vlahos and Eric Schmidt both pushed their singles matches to a tie-breaker before falling. Vlahos, playing at the third position, dropped his match 3-6, 6-3, 10-4 to Evgeny Matigullin, while Victor Yu defeated Schmidt, 6-2, 6-7, 10-7, in the fourth spot.

Mike Tyrell, playing in the sixth singles hole for the Mighty Macs, also lost a close match, 6-4, 7-5, to Sahil Patel. Dave Harlan and Mike Pancoast each won one game in each set of their matches at second and fifth singles, respectively.

Penn State Harrisburg won all three doubles, with Immaculata's second and third tandems each taking one game from the Nittany Lions.

Immaculata travels to Penn State Berks on Saturday afternoon for a 1 p.m. match.
