Men's Soccer Nipped By Marywood, 3-2, In Double Overtime

IMMACULATA, Pa.
- Immaculata University came back from a 2-0 deficit against Marywood University to force the Colonial States Athletic Conference men's soccer match into overtime, but the Pacers broke through in the 106th minute to secure the victory.

After Christian Lawlor and Brett Megee scored just 10 minutes apart during the first part of the opening half to hand Marywood a 2-0 lead, Kameron Teel cut the Pacers lead in half in the 39th minute. Teel knocked home the pass from Daniel Arteglier, sending the hosts into halftime down just 2-1.

Just 1:17 into the second half, Arteglier curled his corner kick inside the post, knotting the score at 2-2.

Despite many opportunities by both sides, the teams ended regulation in a 2-2 draw. Both squads had three chances during the first overtime, but neither team could put the ball in the back of the net.

Then, 5:54 into the second overtime period, Brandon Ritter came through for the Pacers with a goal on Megee's pass.

Immaculata goalkeeper Joshua Garcia made eight saves while Shane Quinn came up with six stops for the Pacers.

Marywood held a slim 21-18 advantage in shots, and Immaculata had an 8-6 lead in corner kicks.

Immaculata travels to Penn State Berks on Monday for a non-conference game against the Nittany Lions at 4 p.m.
